The London Borough of Merton

The London Borough of Merton (www.merton.gov.uk) represents the Parliamentary areas of Wimbledon and Mitcham & Morden. The election in May 2006 saw the London Borough of Merton become Conservative with 30 seats ending 16 years of Labour control. The Conservatives won 30 seats, compared to 27 for Labour, with 3 independent candidates also elected, overcoming the previous Labour majority of 7.
